What our sellers LOVE about 15714 Taviston Street:
The Things We have Enjoyed Most about Living Here Are:
- Charlotte is only 15 miles away, close enough to enjoy city life, but you get to live in the nice suburbs. We are the 46th fastest growing suburb in the US.
- The cost of living is low & there is a lot of economic growth with Lowe's headquarters, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, & Rubbermaid to name a few.
- We are "transplants" & surrounded by people from New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Boston - all over & we met some great southerners as well!
- Coming from New York City we LOVE this weather. You get snow maybe ONCE per year, which is a good fix for your kids to go sledding - but you are not freezing & trapped in your house all winter. You get all of the seasons, but just better temperature all around!
We enjoyed this particular floorplan because:
- Obviously, all the homes are beautiful in Monteith Park, however, we selected this floor plan "The Parkwood" & had it built because it fit our family's needs the best
- We are a family of 4 with a pet dog. This floor plan has everything you could possibly want & more: an office, guest room, loft, a huge bonus room, master down - which is nice to have privacy from your children. When they were smaller, we had little speakers set-up in their rooms - they are now 8 & 12 and we love our space & they love theirs!
- Our main hang out in this house has been the upstairs. We LOVE the space!
- We selected this model because others have bedrooms upstairs & that is it. We used our loft as a TV room with a big l-shaped couch, the bonus room (or the entertainment room) was first a kids' playroom & now that the kids are older, it's turned into an older kids' playroom. I am sure it will make a great teen hangout. It can be used for so many different things, even an in-law apartment! At one point we had a Ping-Pong table in there, you can put a pool table, pin-ball machine. When the kids were little they had a ton of friends over & it was like Gymboree, we had a big parachute & played with it in the bonus room. You can even make a man cave out of it. The possibilities are ENDLESS!
- The storage room can be made into a "man cave" movie theater room, just about anything. That's what makes our floor plan so unique & sets us apart from the others. Walk-in closets & a whole lot more!
What our neighbors are like:
- Our neighbors are all very friendly, & Monteith Park is a very SAFE community. We let our children roam the neighborhood & not have to worry about it.
- Everyone looks out for each other - whether it be a pet missing or something else.
- We have a community Facebook page for community events, such as: Santa driving through the neighborhood, 4th of July pool party, Front Porch Fridays (our favorite) - where you go to a different house every weekend in the summer (you can host or just participate) & have drinks/appetizers on the lovely Southern front porches. Some are kid-friendly, some are adults only. Mingle, meet people, have fun!
- The clubhouse can be rented for personal events, as well as Monteith Park events. Poker for the men, Bunco for the ladies, wine tasting, cookie exchange, & Super Bowl parties! Something for everyone & all ages.
- We love it here because it's diverse with age groups - lots of families, some single people, elderly. Something for everyone & it all seems to mesh perfectly. You can always find a neighbor that babysits, pet sits, does lawn work, basically any type of service.
- We also have 2 yearly tag sales, one in the summer & one in the fall.
- Kids have the common area to gather for kick ball games, etc
- A big green is located right at the end of our street
- There are trails for walking & bikes
- The amenities in this community are very impressive. A pool with a slide, playground. You can socialize or keep to yourself.
- It's a beautiful community, kept-up & pretty color houses compared to other communities. We just love it & know you will too.
Some things you may want to know are:
- We love our home because it is BEAUTIFUL! It is in move-in condition.
- Granite countertops, hardwood floor on lower level, a quiet - low maintenance back yard that can be your garden sanctuary
- We have had many cookouts in the back & friends over. We also had a basketball net back there at one point
- Our kids play four square in the driveway, our dog loves it & we never had a problem with all the backyards in Monteith being small, as they are cozy & always gave us such joy!
- We have a privacy fence & our back alley, which my kids always ride their bikes/scooters/go karts/skateboards & all their toys. It is very safe & awesome
